Zhejiang Spirit Fruit Co., Ltd was founded in May 2001. It is Zhejiang Provincial Agricultural Products Processing Demonstration Enterprise, Quzhou Leading Agricultural Enterprise, and Qu Zhou Key Leading Agricultural Enterprise. It integrates citrus cultivation, fruit processing, and export business. From enterprise naming, trademark registration, package design, to company¡¯s operation idea, and from the establishment of plantation to production management, production standards, and product¡¯s positioning, all of these have been taken in compliance with international standards. Starting with the first 50,000 Yuan, Company has never stopped thriving and developing. Now, it has 23 commercialized production lines and packing machines, with total assets of RMB15, 352,500, of which 8,619,000 is the fixed assets. Each year, Spirit Company will employ over 230 seasonal peasants working for it. In 2004, it sold 208,330,000 tons of oranges and had a gain of RMB 62,499,400. Spirit Company is an export-oriented Leading Agricultural Enterprise that integrates citrus cultivation, processing, and export business.
Spirit¡¯s export-oriented citrus plantation is located in the south of Qian Li Gang Mountains near the headwaters of Qian Tang Jiang River, and covers an area of 8257,5 km2. This production base involves 2 towns and 12 villages, totally 16,426 families. In 2002, it passed the audit and acquired the Certificate of Zhejiang Provincial Non-Pollution Fruit Base, and in 2003, it once again gained the Certificate of National Non-pollution Citrus Base. The production base utilizes the alliance between Company and citrus planting associates to control production, and through unified supply of production materials, product quality standardization, unified technical measures, unified product collection and purchase, and farmer-contracted management, the base achieves the systematic ways of disease prevention and pest extermination, fruit tree pruning, fertilization, and fruit picking so as to produce the high-quality non-pollution oranges.
To ensure the citrus ripeness, the production base practise phased picking. The picked fruits will then be cleaned, graded, waxed, and treated with digitalization of the product factors so as to reach the standards for Classic Oranges. After being labeled with Spirit¡¯s trademark, the oranges are elaborately packed. As a matter of fact, Spirit¡¯s oranges can match U.S. Sunkist in the quality and marketing ability and remains invincible during fierce competition. Spirit TM Amakusa Tangorange won the Gold Prizes of 2002 Zhejiang Agricultural Expo and 2002 China (Zhejiang) Citrus Fruits Expo. Spirit TM citrus fruits has been certified as 2002 Zhejiang Green Agricultural Products, Quzhou Agricultural Famous Products, and Quzhou Green Agricultural Products. After the assessment by China¡¯s Bank (Zhejiang Branch) and Hangzhou Credit Evaluation Company, Sprit Company was qualified as the AAA Credit Enterprise. In 2002, it was honored by Quzhou government as the Enterprise of Honoring Contract and Standing by Contract. For three successive years from 2003 to 2005, Spirit TM citrus fruits have gained the Gold Prizes of Zhejiang Agriculture Expo. Spirit TM was ratified as the Famous Trademark of City Level and Province Level in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
¡¡¡¡Spirit¡¯s marketing network is composed of regional monopolization, domestic distribution, exports, supermarket, wholesales from dealer¡¯s shop, and wholesales from production base. This strategy aims to reach domestic and international market from the base of Quzhou. Spirit fruits sells not long across China but also to Russia, Canada and East Asia, and is moving into E.U.
Spirit¡¯s successful penetration into Far-east Market of Russia opened the curtain to explore into the international market. This October, Spirit set up its citrus distribution center on the boundary port of Heilongjiang Province. As estimated, there will be 30,000 tons of citrus fruits exported through this port, which will earn exchange of US$ 10 million. In December, Spirit was ready to explore the Canada Market.¡¡
Based on the advantages of a 333,500km2 citrus production base and nearly 800,000-ton annual output, Spirit is walking on a feasible and industrialized operation way.
Second, set up the Company plus Cooperation plus Farmers cooperative mode so as to realize the alliance between company and farmers and to enhance their organizational sense.
Shao Yongzhong, board chairman of Spirit Company, is the member of Quzhou People¡¯s Political Consultative Committee, standing member of Kechen People¡¯s Political Consultative Committee, vice-chairman of Zhejiang Citrus Industry Association, vice-chairman of Quzhou Citrus Industry Association, director of Quzhou Citrus Spirit Cooperation, chairman of Kechen Citrus Industry Association, and standing member of Kechen Association for Science. Under his leadership, Spirit¡¯s staff and workers are thriving confidently and have a five-year plan to achieve a global marketing network. Now company plans to introduce an automatic commercialized production line, which is able to generate a daily output of 400,000 tons, and to build up a 10-thousand-square-meter standard factory as its processing factory. Its sales are expected to be over 100 million Yuan and to earn an annual exchange of more than US $ 20 million. China Spirit Group, a large-scale foreign exchange-earning enterprise of agricultural products, is standing up firmly on the vast west land of Zhejiang. |
